Your palm, in six photographs

Three of each hand, into the boxes below. The left carries what you are born with, the right what you have made of it — so which is which matters, and only you can say.

Each photograph is checked on your phone as you choose it, and shown back to you.

How to take one that reads
  1. Open shade, or indoors facing a window — never direct sun, never a single overhead bulb.
  2. Hand flat and relaxed, fingers slightly apart, palm fully open.
  3. Camera square to the palm, about a foot away, the palm filling the frame; include the wrist creases.
  4. Tap to focus on the centre of the palm before you shoot.
  5. Use the back camera, not the selfie camera. Selfie cameras mirror the picture on many phones, which flips the lines left for right. Easiest way: rest your hand on a table and photograph it from above, or have someone take it for you.
  6. Your phone's own Photos are fine — HEIC included.
Your photographs

What happens to them

  • They are used to prepare your reading, and for nothing else.
  • They stay private and are used for your reading alone.
  • They are deleted within 30 days of your reading being delivered — sooner if you ask.
